HI, USB not booting. This thread isn't helpful because I used Debian and etcher to write the files:
1. how do I tell if usb is powered on?
2. if USB is not an option, do i have the option of loading a SCSI SDD drive with an os? (though I'd really prefer usb)
3. What are my options for troubleshooting and getting this working? I may need to return the board if I can't figure this out but I'd much rather get the board working.
the board came back, it looks like it hits boot, but it doesnât want to have keyboard input and video output stops.
Since there is odd behavior on the power supply, should i try returning the power supply? or testing it some more ?
I dont think red or yellow is supposed to be close to 0 Or .2 I think its supposed to be 5v. not sure if i measures right
Have you tried different USB flash drives?
I get this when nothing is plugged in. its the exact same as if a usb were plugged in.
Hello @robert fornof, thanks for your questions.
If have other USB devices, you can see if they power up when plugged in. Do you have any screenshots of what you are seeing?
USB is on and available by default as soon as you turn on the system. That how we load our OS. I realize you are trying to load Debian, but would you be able to confirm that our OS in live mode (run off of the USB flash drive, not installed to the eMMC) works? If you can confirm this, then that gives us some clue about what is/not working.
I need to know more about what you are seeing before I can suggest troubleshooting. You can use a RPi CM4 I/O board for loading software to the eMMC, but we don't have a process for this (out side of what RPi provides). We really only support our provided OS, but will help troubleshoot any issues where we can. Others in this community tell us they've been able to install other Operating Systems (Ubuntu comes to mind), so it can be done.
